I painted this a while ago and while it wasn't quite finished I couldn't figure out why. After a few days of chewing it over, I hung it on a wall that I walk by a bit. Stubborn paintings eventually do come around and tell me what it is that needs to be finished. Yesterday, while walking by I parted a distracted glance at it and at last had my 'AH HA!' moment
